The Community Sports Programmes aims to increase participation in sport and physical activity, while also improving the health and wellbeing of individuals.
Programmes such as this help to build community cohesion through increased participation of children, young adults and adults in areas of high social need and groups traditionally marginalised in sport.
In 2018our objective in this programme of activities is to build community capacity, to get to a point where the community groups and volunteers feel confident to develop, deliver and promote sport and physical activity programmes.
The Bike Week Programme is based on a National Initiative with cycling events all over the country, organised by local authorities, community groups, charities and cycling groups. Each year the LSP deliver a number of programmes and activities during BikeWeek namely; Schools Safe Cycling Tours, Teens in the Wild, Family Fun Day Cycles, Confidence Building with Brothers of Charity, Women on Wheels Cycling Challenge, Nifty after Fifty Men only cycling challenge, Older Adults cycling challenges and Companies Cycling Challenges.
